Same here, and it is worse on a small screen.
It works if you go the long way round, but nobody should have to know that.
Does this happen for you on the web version too, or only the app?
I would rather they fixed the search first, honestly. This is annoying but that one blocks real work.
Happy to test this if it ever lands behind a flag. I hit it several times a week.
